Food prices in Iceland markets.
There are several of them: Bonus, Kronan, Krambú?in, etc., according to stories, Bonus is the cheapest. However, everything is relative, sometimes there will be products that will be cheaper at Kronan. From practice, when you go through Iceland, when there is a town and there is a shop, better to do some shopping because you don’t know when you will need something and the shop will no longer be there.

Importantly, if you rented a car, check whether there is a key ring resembling an AirTag on the keys – it may be a special discount on refueling – you apply it to the fuel dispenser before refueling and you get a few crowns discount per liter.

Icelandic Fish Soup
Real Icelandic fish soup is very creamy and contains a lot of seafood. Remember this, don’t be fooled by a very watery soup, it’s not it.
Icelandic sweaters prices
Icelandic sweaters are an interesting topic, if you want to buy a good original woolen sweater, always check the label, it must show 100% wool nothing else.. Especially in very touristic places. It often happens that a sweater with an original Icelandic or Nordic pattern is not 100% wool. Because the lining is 100% polyester. You can see an example of such a sweater below.
Sweater | Icelandic Crowns | Euro |
Wool 100% | 20 000 – 40 000 ISK | 130,65 -261,30 EUR |
What is important about woolen sweaters is their naturalness, you don’t want to wear something that is artificial, but here we have wool on the outside, but the entire lining is artificial material.
The sweaters below are 100% Icelandic sweaters made of Icelandic sheep wool, they have no lining, which makes them really warm. I bought this sweater and I only wear it over a T-shirt and it’s really warm.
Prices of gas cylinders in Iceland.
We didn’t need the gas cylinders, but our friends asked about them, so we checked how much they cost. In the few markets we visited, there was no such thing as gas cylinders, but in the tourist market in Gulfoss they were on display.
Gas cylinders | Icelandic Crowns | Euro |
450g | 1990 ISK | 13,00 EUR |
230g | 1490 ISK | 9,73 EUR |
100g | 1090 ISK | 7,12 EUR |
